Biography

Marcus Witt was born 29 Nov 1844^[1] in Germany, the son of Marx and Gesche (______) Witt.^[2]

He may have immigrated to America at age 24, departing from Hamburg, Germany, aboard the "Cimbria", arriving in New York, New York on 12 Mar 1869.^[3]

He married Margaretha Junge about 1881,^[4] probably in Iowa. They had the following children:^[1]

Marcus died 20 Aug 1922^[1] in Keystone, Iowa, aged 77 years, 8 months, 21 days.^[2] He is buried at Keystone Cemetery in Keystone, Benton County, Iowa.^[2][5]
