Biography
Sarah Ann Wood was born to John Wood and Martha Dixon after 1830, as she was a minor in her grandfather's 1850 probate record (June Term of the Probate Court). Her uncle Zachariah Dixon was her legal guardian at that time.[1] Amite County (Mississippi) marriage records show that a Sarah Ann Wood married Joseph H. Daugherty later that year, on 26 June.[2][3]
A December 1851 court record regarding the estate of her grandfather names Joseph H. Daugherty and Sarah A. Daugherty. Administrators of the estate were Zachariah Dixon and John Henderson (another uncle).[1]
