Daniel Woodall was age 12, born Virginia and living in the home of his parents Lafayette and Nancy Woodall in the 1850 census of Patrick County, Virginia ^[1]

Military

During the Civil War D. J. Woodall was listed as a Private in Company A, 11th Battalion, Virginia Reserves (Confederate). The Company Muster Roll for Apr 16 to Aug 31 1864, Dated Aug 31,1864 shows he was enlisted on Apr 16 18-- at Suttonsville by Peter R. Hicks for the period of the war. However he was recorded as Absent with the remark: "Absent without leave from organization."^[2][3]
