Allen Woodle was killed during the Battle of Resaca during United States Civil War.

Allen was born about 1832. He was the son of Joel Woodle and Ann Smith.

His father died either before or soon after he was born. His mother married Eli Burbank and moved to Harrison Township, Illinois. [1][2]

Civil War

Allen enlisted with Company A, 74th Regiment, Illinois Infantry in August 1862. He died of a gun shot wound at the Battle of Resaca on May 14, 1864. [3][4][5]

Research Notes

Some records indicate Allen may have been born in Wisconsin around 1840.
