Hannah Woodruff was born about 1841 in New Hudson, Oakland, Michigan. She was a daughter of Alfred Woodruff and Sarah J Lee. The family was living in Lyon, Oakland, Michigan in 1850. They stayed there until she was 13.[1][2] In 1860, she was living in Grand Rapids, La Salle, Illinois with her mother and siblings. They lived next door to Hannah’s future brother-in-law, Henry Brock. Her future husband, Alfred, was living with his brother, Henry, and working as a farm hand.[3]
Hannah married Alfred Brock on December 5, 1860 in La Salle county, Illinois.[4] In 1870, the family lived in Danby, Tompkins, New York where Alfred was born.[5] They had seven children while living in Danby through 1880.[6]
Alfred died in 1895. From 1900 through to her death, Hannah lived with some of her children in Danby, Tompkins county, New York.[7][8] She died of "the grip" on December 27, 1907 at home in Danby, Tompkins, New York.[9] Her funeral was held at her residence on Tuesday, Dec. 31st.[10]
