Biography

William Woolhouse was a Doctor of Physick, son of William Woolhouse of North Muskam Nottinghamshire and his second wife Elizabeth Colston. ^[1] He was admitted to St John's College Cambridge on 5 June 1660 at the age of 16, from which his birth can be estimated to about 1643. He earned the BA degree in 1663/4 and the MA in 1672. ^[2]

On 14 May 1670, he married Mary, daughter of John Hacker of Flintham Nottinghamshire. ^{[3] [4]} Three children were named in the 1689 Will, proved 1691, of his mother-in-law Mary Hacker. ^[5] None of their birth records have been discovered.

Elizabeth Woolhouse - d. 26 August 1715. A memorial in the Flintham church is inscribed " Here Lieth the Body of M'* Elizabeth ... daughter to Dr Wool [house] Grandchild to John Hacker Esq' who departed this Life Aug* y* 26* 1715." ^[6]

William Woolhouse died on 29 May 1723 at the age of 80. ^[2]
