Henry Woolsey was a private in Col. John Cantine's 3rd Regiment of Ulster County, New York, Militia, under Capt. Peleg Ransom in defense of the frontiers of Orange County, New York. Recorded in Volume 12, Folio 63, page __ of the "Manuscripts of the Colony & State of New York in the Revolutionary War" on file in the Comptrollers office, Albany, New York. Per Roll of Capt. John Brinkerhoff for service performed under his command on the Frontiers of Orange County Nov. & Dec. 1778. No. of Certificate 36685, dated June 1, 1786. Volume 12, Folio 84, dated June 1, 1786 instructs Col. John Cantine to settle in full with Capt. Peleg Ransom for all wages due said Henry Woolsey for services done on the frontiers & signed by Henry Woolsey.
