Then, after years of unimaginable abuse, Tillie's health failed. He learned he had diabetes as early as 1929, but in 1940 he suffered a heart attack. No longer able to work, he abandoned the antique business and, with the ever-loyal Lillian, moved in with older daughter Marian, then Mrs. Harold Worden, in Toledo.^[6]
