Biography

Emily Worth is born New South Wales, Australia on August 18, 1882 [1][2][3]. Her parents are John Worth (1851-1922) and Harriet Loveday Priestley (1859-1952). The birth is registered in Wingham although one source says the actual birth was in Coolongolook. It is quite likely that birth is in Coolongolook as that is where most of her siblings were born. Wingham is 57 kilometres by road north of Coolongolook.

In 1906 Emily marries Reuben Alfred Greenaway (1881-1960) in Stroud [1][2][4]. Emily and Reuben have two children:

• Sylvia Mavis Greenaway 1913-1983 + (1932) Herbert A. Dawson 1912-1985

• Reuben Roy Greenaway 1918-1965 + (1944) Dorothy Jean Wallis 1926-1981

In 1947 Emily and Reuben are living in Wingham, and they have living wth them Emily’s brother, Charles, and Emily’s mother, Harriet. (This is known from the 1947 funeral announcement for Charles.)

Reuben dies on April 16, 1960, in Taree, NSW and Emily dies on November 15, 1971, in Wingham [5]. They are buried in the Wingham General Cemetery.

Reuben was born c1881 in Port Stephens, NSW, the son of George Greenaway (1842-1924) and Mary Ann Hardy (1853-1903). Emily and Reuben have 2 children: (1) Sylvia Mavis Greenaway 1913-1983 and (2) Reuben Roy Greenaway 1918-1965. Emily dies on Nov 15, 1972, in Wingham, NSW. She is buried in the Wingham General Cemetery. This source contains a picture of the headstone. (Unfortunately it is not possible to provide a transcription given the condition of the headstone.) Reuben dies on April 16, 1960, in Taree, NSW and he is buried with Emily.
