She was baptised on 3 Aug, 1861 at Christ Church, Mount Vincent, New South Wales, Australia. Her family were residing at Mount Vincent and her father's occupation was listed as settler.[3]
Just 5 months after the death of her husband, Augusta gave birth to their daughter Emma Hector on 13 Oct, 1882.[5]
On 2 Sep, 1885, Augusta gave birth to her second daughter Ethel Wyborn, in East Maitland, New South Wales, Australia.[6] Ethel would later use the surname of Hector.
Augusta gave birth to a son, Harold Wyborn, on 28 Sep, 1891, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. [7] Harold later took his stepfather's surname of Mayer.
In 1894, Augusta, along with Robert Kerr, was arrested and charged of break and enter of the Burrangong Hotel. It was alleged that they had stolen seven bottles of whisky, a bottle of brandy, two bottles of port, and a bottle of rum. Augusta was discharged of the crime, and Robert Kerr was committed for trial at Quarter Sessions.[8][9]
"Robert Kerr, 20, laborer, and Augusta Hector, 31, widow, were before Mr. Giles, S.M., at the Central Police Court, on Saturday, charged with having burglariously broken and entered the dwelling house of Henry Bywater, 653 George Street, and stolen therein seven bottles of whisky, a bottle of brandy, two bottles of port wine, and a bottle of rum, value of £2 6s 6d. They were arrested by Senior Constables Murdoch and Fullerton, who applied for a remand till Wednesday next, which was granted."
Augusta married Maximilian Mayer in 1900 in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.[10]
In 1930, Augusta appeared on the electoral roll, residing at Toronto, New South Wales, Australia.[11]
Augusta passed away on 29 Mar, 1950.[12] She was privately interred on 31 Mar, 1950 at Sandgate Cemetery in Sandgate, New South Wales, Australia.[13][14]
Probate was published on 31 Aug, 1950. Emma May Hector was named sole executrix.[15]
