Alice Uvedale was daughter of Sir John Uvedale of Titsey in Surrey and his wife, Sibyl Scures of Wickham in Hampshire.[1]
Her first husband, whom she married about 1396, was William de Wykeham, son of William Perrot and his wife, Alice Champneis. He had, along with his brothers, taken the name of de Wykeham in honour of their great uncle, William de Wykeham, Bishop of Winchester.[1][2]
After William's death, Alice married Reynolde de Peckham of Wrotham in Kent, son of James de Peckham and his wife, Lora Moraunt. [3] The marriage must have taken place around 1400 when James de Peckham died since Reynolde and Alice had at least 4 children before the marriage came to an abrupt end in 1407. [4]
Alice wrote her will on 18 November 1407. Her husband was already dead. In her will she named her underage sons, Reynolde and James, and her unmarried daughters, Elizabeth and Johan. She asked to be buried next to her husband in the churchyard of St George, Wrotham. [4]
