Elizabeth Wylie, wife of Michael Bacon, is named in the Bacon pedigree of William Lincoln Palmer. Both she and Michael were baptised at Winston, Suffolk, 31 May 1566: the same day their first born was baptised.[1] Her parents, birth date and place are unknown. Her last name at birth is unsourced and appears in later works and pedigrees. No primary source for her LNAB is found.
Elizabeth and Michael were married on 16 August 1565 at Helmingham, Suffolk[1][2] (Boyd's Marriage Indexes calls her "Elz With").[3] They had at least six children, all of whom were named in Michael's will:
John, baptized on 31 May 1566 at Winston, Suffolk, along with both parents.[1] He married Mary ____ and had at least three children before 1615[4]
A burial record was found for an Elizabeth Bacon on 14 July 1607 at St Clement in Ipswich, Suffolk.[5] Winston and Ipswich are 12 miles apart, however, there is not enough evidence to connect the burial record to the Elizabeth of this profile. We do know that Elizabeth died before Michael remarried on 20 (or 30) September 1607 to the widow Grace _____ Blowerses. "My wife Grace" was named in Michael's will dated 20 October 1614.[1][2]
