Biography

Perleana was the second oldest child born to Solomon and Elizabeth (nee Martin) Wyrick.

She married James McGinty in 1874. The following children were born to this union:

1. Mary Magdaline McGinty (1876-1924)
2. Josephine McGinty (1879-bef.1900)
3. Martha Jane McGinty (1882-1976)
4. Lena Olive McGinty (1884-1960)
5. Dora McGinty (1887-1916)
6. John Solomon McGinty (1895-1952)
7. Elizabeth McGinty (1896-1937)

Obituary

Miami Daily News Record (Miami, OK), Thurs. Dec. 4, 1941, Page 2 Funeral services were held at Westville, Okla., yesterday for Mrs. Plene McGinty, mother of John McGinty of Miami, who died at her Westville Home last Tuesday evening. Other survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ollie Heal and Mrs. Martha Pilgrim, both of Westville; 37 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren; a brother and three sisters. Funeral under direction of Cooper Funeral home.

PLEASE NOTE: the gravestone shows an incorrect year for death. Death year is actually 1941, not "1942". Confirmed by Cooper Funeral Home records and the newspaper obituary. Also noteworthy is her year of birth...early census records show birth year 1853-1855.
