Biography

Mary aka Mollie was born in Virginia between 1851-1852. She is listed with her widowed mother on both: the 1860 Census^[1] and the 1870 Census.^[2] Shortly after the 1870 Census was taken she married William L. Payne (marriage record needed). She is listed with her husband on the following census reports:

• 1880 Census^[3]
• 1900 Census^[4]
• 1910 Census^[5]
• 1920 Census^[6]

Her husband passed away on December 24, 1929.^[7] She is listed as widowed with her brother; Culton (listed as Auston) and a daughter in her home on the 1930 Census.^[8] It is believed that she passed away in 1936 but a record of death is needed for confirmation; all that is certain at this time is that she passed away after the 1930 Census and has not been located on a 1940 Census Report.
