Emma marries Samuel Nutter about 1854. Their first child, James Elmer Nutter, is born on 28 Mar 1855 in West Columbia, Mason County, Virginia.[4] In 1857 their second son Curtis Matthew Nutter is born also in Mason County, Virginia.[5] They have a baby daughter on 23 Oct 1859, but she dies shortly after birth.[6] Over the next years they have two more children die at or shortly after birth also.[7]
Emma's father Joseph dies of old age on 4 May 1860.
I was not able to locate Emma and her family in 1860 yet, but their third son, Robert Edgar Nutter is born on 8 Sep 1860[8][9] and listed as born in West Viginia in 1870. They did move to Ohio sometime in the 1860s though.
11 June 1870 Emma, her husband Samuel and their three boys are listed in Syracuse Township, Meigs County, Ohio.[10] Samuel is working as a stone cutter.

On 30 May 1871 Emma's daughter Ella Nutter is born still in Syracuse, Meigs County, Ohio.[11][12], but the family returns to Mason County, West Virginia sometime after Ella's birth. Emma's daughter May Tolla Nutter is born in Point Pleasant, Mason County, West Virginia on 7 Sep 1874.[13]
12 June 1880 Emma's family is now listed living on Viand Street, Lewis District, Mason County, West Virginia.[14] Her husband Samuel is listed as Invalid and dealing with coal.

Emma dies from breast cancer when she is 60 years old.
