It appears from researching passenger lists, that James Young and his wife Grace (nee Strain), arrived in NZ on the ship Cartsburn, in July 1874. This ship left the UK in April 1874. James' and Grace's children appear on the passenger list as Alexander (aged 14), Barbara (aged 13), William (aged 11), Thomas (aged 10), James (aged 7), Christian (aged 5), Catherine (aged 4), John (aged 2) and David (aged 10 months).
