Biography

Victor was born in 1920. He died in 1943 while serving aboard USCGC Escanaba.

"The USCGC Escanaba went down in the waters of the North Atlantic on June 13, 1943. The ship sunk so fast that very few of the crew were able to make it off the ship into the icy waters. Of the men who were able to escape, only two were rescued. The Escanaba sunk three minutes after a massive explosion initially thought to have been a torpedo from a German U-boat. No U-boat ever claimed to have fired at the ship so it was more likely that the Escanaba strayed into the path of a drifting mine." [1]
