Rachel was born in Kentucky in 1826, the daughter of Andrew Zornes and Rachell McCleese. She married John Gilbert in Kentucky in 1842.[1] Rachel passed away in Oklahoma in 1915, and is buried in Fredonia, Kansas.[2]

It may be possible to confirm family relationships with Rachel by comparing test results with other carriers of her mitochondrial DNA.
However, there are no known mtDNA test-takers in her direct maternal line.

Are you sure that Andrew and Rachell were her parents? I only ask because there is a Thomas Stout Zornes and Prudence Pettit from the same are who died in 1837 and their children were left orphaned. I didn't want to make a duplicate, but they're extremely close. But this is a Rachel B.
