Sachiko, Princess Hisa, was born in Tokyo-fu on 10 September 1927. She was the daughter of Hirohito, the reigning Emperor of Japan at the time, and Nagako, his Empress.
On 27 February 1928, Hisa was diagnosed with catarrh after developing eczema and high fever. On 1 March, the doctor said that it is not worrisome, and on 3 March, Hisa was expected to recover. However, on 4 March, she had a very high fever, 39 degrees Celsius, and by 9 pm, sepsis was suspected. She died in infancy on 8 March at 3:38 AM local time. She was buried at Toshimagaoka Imperial Cemetery in Tokyo.
