You should also remove these details from the communication preferences on your profile.
You can use the search feature to search for individual names or use the wild card * in the first name field to search for anyone with that surname. Then narrow your results by date or location. You can start with the search box at the top of your profile or find the search page under the Find drop down menu. Give that a try!
