Biography
James was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He lived in Metairie, Louisiana and Harahan, Louisiana before starting school. His family moved to Vacherie, Louisiana the summer before he started Kindergarten. The summer before sixth grade, his family moved to Metairie, Louisiana. While in Metairie, he graduated from Archbishop Rummel High School. He attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg for two years, before returning to Metairie to eventually complete an Associate of General Science from Delgado Community College. Then, he completed a Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of New Orleans. Later, James resumed his academic education and obtained a Master of Science in Information Assurance from Norwich University of Northfield, Vermont.
James' first job was working in the family retail hardware store after school. During high school, he tried out a variety of other jobs, and two years after obtaining his bachelor's degree he started working in Information Technology, eventually specializing in Information Security.
James relocated from Metairie, Louisiana to Meridian, Idaho in August of 2005. His wife and step-daughter were delayed in their relocation by Hurricane Katrina, but they eventually rejoined him in Idaho. James and his wife welcomed two new members into the family in 2017.

Sources are very important for genealogy - be sure to include the sources used, on each profile you add.
It is a good idea to enter a few of your ancestors manually, to get used to how WikiTree works. Then, you could upload a small portion of your tree, with a gedcom, to see how that works. There is usually editing needed after a Gedcom import, so fewer profiles makes the task easier.
"Sources are critically important for genealogy. Some even say that genealogy without sources is mythology. Even if you're just a casual family historian recording modern family history, you will be helping future genealogists by listing where the information you've added came from."
