Biography

Mary Jane was born about 1840, the daughter of John Richardson and Jane Early/Eady.

She married John W. Hodgins in 1862. Their marriage record reads:

John Hodgins, 24, residing in Admaston, born in Ireland, son of Matthew Hodgins and Sarah Green, married

Mary Richeson (sic), 23, residing in Horton, born in Goulbourn, daughter of John Richeson and Jane Early,

On April 8, 1862, in Renfrew County, Canada West.

Together they had the following children:

1. William Henry, married Elizabeth Brown
2. Sarah Jane, married James McAlister
3. Ann, married Thomas Crozier
4. John Walter, married Margaret Alice Edwards
5. Ellen, married Robert Bruce Price
6. Albert Edmeron, married Sarah Ann Bowes

She died on October 14, 1896.

Mary is buried at Haley United Cemetery, in Haley Station, Ontario.
