Biography
George Sigler was born in North Carolina.
George Sigler was born about 1785 in North Carolina. He was the son of Jacob Sigler. In his father's last will, dated 1 April 1817 in Rowan County, North Carolina, George Sigler was listed as one of his heirs.[1]
In 1800, it is assumed that George lived in Salisbury, Rowan, North Carolina in his father Jacob's household.[2]
It is thought that he he married Elizabeth Jones.
Research Notes
Family Data Collection information from Ancestry.com, compiled by Edmund West are not considered valid sources, but here are two entries. Both entries show an incorrect death date and the other information is suspect as well.
- One "Family Data Collection" item says he was born 21 May 1786 in Rowan County, North Carolina and died 1858 in Hopkins County, Kentucky.[3]
- Another "Family Data Collection" says he was the son of Jacob Sigler and Margaret Holeman, was born 21 May 1786, married Elizabeth Jones in North Carolina and died 21 February 1846.[4]
