Good Morning!

Helen Marie "Oslowski" then "Sewaske" or "Sewaski" married first a "Beistel" then an "Ortolf". She is my biological father's maternal grandmother (aka my great grandmother) who I had the pleasure of knowing since she lived over 100 years. Her parents fled the Soviet Union during troubled times (with 'false' papers stating they were Polish and giving the new(?) last name "Oslowski" but it seems their recorded names in family papers were modified on census documents like 1900 Oil City, Venango, PA when her father Ladislaus Oslowski adopted the Anglican "Joseph Sewaske" and mother Katharina Juszczak (Oslowski) became "Katie Sewaske". I'm not sure the best way to fix the "suggestion" as I tried adding links to the documents like the 1890 and 1900 Federal Census pages and even gave all three spellings as alternate last names for Grandma Beistel's maiden name. Trust me when I say I have edited this comment for brevity multiple times but I can only offer my sincerest apologies to whomever is reading through this mess. I just don't want her deleted and have been hesitant to even attempt adding her parents because of this situation. So basically, will the suggestion turn in to a Warning or Deletion? Any advise? Thanks so much- Cheers! Becky Elizabeth Simmons

Hi, Becky,

Any questions regarding specifics should go on the profile, not this page, but we can help. You can set up a Research Notes section on the related profiles the information you have and wrote above, and then mark the suggestion as "False Suggestion."

Profiles are never deleted on WikiTree. Link your documents on the profile. If you have census records, the citation should go in the sources.

Without the exact profile link, I cannot research this, but I am happy to see if there are other specific tips I can give you if you want to send the profile links.

OK, I need to uncross my eyes. Let me know if you need anything further after you try these tips. Stay safe, Sheryl

Balmori is a surname from the Phillipines. I found the spelling in numerous newspaper articles and census data. Also a member of the Ewing family married a Dr. Louis Balmori.
Well it is the only one on Wikitree. When more will be added, the suggestion will go away.
