He married Milicent de Cantelowe, daughter of Sir William de Cantelowe, Baron of Eaton Bay & Abergavenny, Constable of Builth Castle and Eve de Brewes, before 13 December 1273, in Abergavenny, Over Gwent, Monmouthshire, Wales.1047 Millicent was born circa 1250 of Calne, Wiltshire, England and died about 1299 . Magnates, were descended from Alan de la Zouche [d. 1190], who arrived in England from Brittany in the reign of Henry II. The Northamptonshire branch of the family was established by Eudo I de la Zouche [d. 1279]. grandson of Alan. The Zouches of Harringworth reveal how a junior branch of a baronial family could establish and maintain itself through royal service and judicious marriages. The family, however, remained among the second rank of the nobility, suggesting that bureaucratic and military competence were insufficient talents to ensure further social advancement.

Grant to Eudo la Zuche of the marriage of Agatha, daughter of William de Ferariis, earl of Derby, if the earl will consent, with the whole profit and other things which could fall to the king of the said marriage; so that he render for this grant 150 marks.
