I have an ancestor, Thomas Craig [Craig-2280], that is listed in both the Burke's Peerage and The Scot's Peerage. He is however, listed as marrying two different half-sisters - one sister, Margaret, in Burke's Peerage and the other sister, Elizabeth, in The Scot's Peerage. Both sisters have the same father but different mother's (mother's were both named Elizabeth). I do find some Scotland Birth and Baptism records for their children. Most just list the father but a few mention the mother and lists her as Elspeth Cranston (which to me is closer to Elizabeth than Margaret). I think people want to use the Margaret reference because her mother was Elizabeth Stewart, the great granddaughter of James V (via an illegitimate son). I also had Margaret (per WikiTree) but then I found the Scot's Peerage record. And I'm thinking that Burke's peerage is incorrect (and so is Wiki). Thoughts?
