Looking for info on John Furman Dykes, b: 27 Jul 1886 in Ga & d: 30 Jan 1937 in Chatham County, GA

Question

At some time in the early past, some members of the Dyches family changed the spelling of their name to Dykes. I do not know the reason, but I'm having problems finding the ancestoral family of James Furman Dykes. In my research I've come across instances when a member would have Dykes/Dyches as the family name. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
