I wanted to suggest that you add your tag(s) to show any surnames you are researching. When you list a surname, location or historical event in your tags, you can then click them and see a list of other WikiTree genealogists who are also researching those names, locations, etc.
You'll also get notifications in your daily & weekly emails when there is activity relevant to your tags.
Just getting my feet wet and exploring the site to get comfortable. I have info up to and including my Great Great Grandfather Adams. Excited to add to this site! John P Adams
WikiTree is different because our goal is to have one profile per person, which means that all members work together as a single collaborative team. The Honor Code helps keep everything functioning smoothly as we work on one BIG tree.
The initial email from us has links you can use to get started. When you confirm your email address, you'll have an option to volunteer to add information to WikiTree, beginning with tags for your own profile. Tags are surnames, locations, concepts, etc. that you'd like to track.
If you decide to volunteer, a greeter will confirm your membership, and you'll be able to add new profiles to the tree.
You are now a confirmed member of WikiTree. Thank you for volunteering!
Be sure to read How to Use Wikitree. It's full of information to get you started.
Also, our G2G forum is a great way to get to know our community. Join the fun with our Question of the Week: Do you listen to genealogy podcasts?
Once you get settled, take a look at the Volunteers Needed page. It lists all the great ways to help out our collective effort.
Well check back with you in a couple of days to see how things are going. Meanwhile, enjoy getting to know WikiTree!
