He married Louisa Ellen "Lucy" Bennett, daughter of James and Nancy (Murphy) Bennett, on 13 Jan. 1839 in Russell County, Alabama.[1]
Richard died on 7 Sep. 1839 in Russell County, Alabama and was buried at Hephzibah Cemetery, Lee County, Alabama.[1] His memorial has a link to that of Louisa.[2]
