Biography

Joan Bozoun was a daughter of Robert Bozoun.[1][2]

She may have married first William de Chevereston and second c 1286-1288, Stephen de Haccombe.[2]

Children:

  • John de Chevereston[1][2]
  • Jordan de Haccombe[2]

Undated: "Deed No. 1696 in the Pole Collectanea records a grant to Hugo de Ferrers and Alicia his wife, to William de Chiverston and Joanna his wife, by Gilbert de Boterford, of a watercourse in North Radworthy. This deed is undated, but from the evidence of witnesses is several years earfier than the Haccombe deed No. 63."[2]

Undated: Deed No. 63, a quit-claim by Hugh de Ferrers and Alice his wife to Stephen de Haccombe and Joan his wife of all right to the homage and service of Thomas de Halghewylle from lands and tenements "By the broke" in the manor of Dartyngton, which the said Thomas is accustomed to pay for a moiety of the same lands, etc.[2]

Joan would appear to have died by 1324 when Stephen de Haccombe was then recorded with a wife named Margery.

12 Nov 1324: Stephen de Haccombe & Margery his wife, claimants, by John de Chuddeley in Margery's place, and Robert le Pyl, deforciant; as to the manor of Yestanton & passage across the water of Lyner in Yestanton. Should Stephen & Margery die without heir of their bodies, the manor & passage shall revert in their entirety to Cecilia, daughter of Jordan de Haccombe.[3]
