Anna Margaretha Frank was born about 1741 in the Beienheim, Oberhessen area of Hesse-Darmstadt. She married Johann Georg Major on 20 March 1766.

The couple immigrated to Russia later that year, sailing on the English Frigate with Skipper Adam Beerfeier, arriving in St. Petersburg on 12 September 1766. ^[2] In the Kulberg Reports, their surname is spelled Mayor, and Georg was listed as a Lutheran farmer from Darmstadt.^[2]

Georg and his wife are listed in the first Grimm census.
