Biography

John Knowles was born about 1641, Dorchester?, Massachusetts. He was married in the early 1660s, Fairfield, Connecticut, to Rebecca Cable (b. ca. 1643, Springfield?, Massachusetts; died Fairfield?, Connecticut), daughter of John Cable and Sarah.

"Jno Knowles" appears on the list of Freemen of Fairfield, Connecticut, of 10 October 1669, which also notes that he was serving as one of the three Selectmen of Fairfield. His will was dated 01 November 1673, Fairfield, Connecticut, and he presumably died shortly thereafter.
