Rex concessit Gileberto de Bosco scutagium suum de quarta parte feodi j militis quod tenet de Nicholaa que fuit uxor Rogeri de Cauz et ipsa de archiepiscopo Cantuariensi; scilicet, de scuto daae marcas etc. Et mandatuin est vicecomiti Kancie etc.

The king granted Gilbert de Bosco his scutage for the fourth part of the knight's, which he holds of Nicholas, who was the wife of Roger de Cauz, and she of Archbishop of Canterbury; that is,two marks per knight's fee. And mandate of the sheriff of Kent etc.

[Book of Fee, page 921] 1242-1243. Huntingdon. Baronia Hugonis de Ver, Comitis Oxonie. Emma de Lega tenet in Hemmingeford et Gillinge [Yelling] feoda iij.

[Calendar Patent Rolls HIII] 8 April 1243 Bordeaux. Charter granting to John de Grey and his heirs free warren in all his demesne lands in his manors of ---------------; grant also to him that Emma de la Legh, who holds the manors of Pudinton [Lee, Lega, La Leye [in Puddington], co. Bedford] and Snelleston [Snellson, co. Buckingham] in dower, which ought to revert to the said John after her death, may for her life, and John and his heirs after her death, have free warren in all the demesne lands of the said manors ---------------. Witnesses: ------------.
