Biography

Lucille 'Lucy' Northum Percy was born about 1570, in Petworth House[1], Petworth, Sussex, England. She was the daughter of Sir Henry 'Cruel Henry' Percy, 8th Earl of Northumberland, and Lady Katherine Neville.

Lucy married Sir John Wotton (1550-1597) [2] about 1590.

Upon Sir John's death, Lucy next married Sir Hugh Owen, Esq. about 1610.[3] They had two sons:[4]

  1. Richard[5]
  2. Percy[5]

She passed away in 1660.[6][7][8][9][10]

Research Notes

  • Lucy's birth name was likely Lucille 'Lucy' Northum Percy, but all sources so far show her name as 'Lucy Percy'.
  • Lucy Percy, Countess of Carlisle, 1599, daughter of Henry Percy, 9th earl of Northumberland, married to John Hay, should NOT be confused with this Lucy Percy, c.1570, daughter of Henry Percy, 8th earl of Northumberland, married to (m1) John Wotton and then married to (m2) Hugh Owen. (See: [5],"Wikipedia: Henry Percy, 8th Earl of Northumberland", section 'Family'.

Percy-1725 and Percy-470 appear to represent the same person because: I believe both profiles are the same person. They have the same parents. Thank you for your consideration.

Sincerely, Jerry Owens (Owens-12761)
