Josiah was in the Revolutionary war from Epping, two years in Colonel Nichol's regiment and was afterwards a pensioner. He first settled in Sanbornton, now Franklin, at the north end of his uncle Marston's 1st Div. Lot 62. He was there known as "Wolf 'Siah".
He married Hannah Rundlett of Exeter, who died Sept 24, 1822 of consumption.
He lived several years on the present Sanders place, under Steele's Hill and died at the Square, with his daughter Jan 24, 1841 age 77.
