Walter FitzPagan gave a bovate of land at Kilton to the Priory of Guisborough, and was succeeded by his brother Osbert de Kylton. [1]
In volume 34 of The Yorkshire Archaeological Journal, it explains in detail its conclusion that "there is nothing whatever to indicate that Walter FitzPagan (son of Pagan FitzWalter) was ever lord of Kilton. It is quite possible that he was nothing more than a small freeholder on the manor of Kilton." [2]
