Maria "Martha" Tunstall[1] was born before 2 Jul 1652 in Putney, Surrey England. She was the daughter Henry Tunstall of Putney, Surrey, England and Elizabeth Hutchisson, who married on 20 Dec 1648 in Saint Mary Abchurch, City of London, England.[2]
Martha died on 1 Sep 1709 in Setauket, Suffolk, New York, and was buried in Saint Georges Cemetery, Setauket.[1]
Will, Abstract of
7 Sep 1707 Martha Smith of the Manor of St George, Suffolk, NY to eldest son Henry Smith and his wife Anna, to son William Henry Smith all the designs she has on Whaling, and contracts, all the boats and crafts. She mentions her youngest son Charles Jeffry Smith and his upbringing, to have the silver plate, her wedding ring etc. She divides the balance of her property in 1/9th - to eldest daughter Mary Heathcote, son William Henry, daughter Jean Smith, daughter Gloriana Muirson, son Charles Jeffry. Names son William Henry Smith and the daughters as exe. Proved 6 June 1710. NY Wills Liber 8. [4]
Note: the daughter, Gloriana Muirson, died intestate, widow of George Muirson. NY 29 Nov 1710 lts admin to brother-in-law Caleb Heathcote. [5]
