1871 CENSUS: George & Charlotte CROSS (43 & 41) lived at 5 back of 5 High Park Street, Aston, with their children Emma (16), Alice (14) and Clara (6). George CROSS was an 'Edge Tool Maker', Emma was a 'Cartridge Maker' and Alice was a 'Brass Worker'. A cartridge maker was involved in the making of ammunition, and evidences from other sources suggests that this was at Kynoch's in Witton, near Aston.
