"Black and white photograph showing Bunsen Coal Mine #4 and #5 near Universal, Indiana. The viewer is standing in the middle of a rail looking towards the two mines and their tipples. These twin coal mines were owned by Bunsen Coal Company up until around 1913, and by United States Fuel Company sometime after until at least 1921 as referenced by the Year Book of the State of Indiana for the year 1918 and the first annual report of the State Bureau of Inspection in Indiana. In these references, Bunsen Mine #4 and #5 are referenced as Universal #4 and #5." These are the mines Michael Godo reported working at in 1917 when filling out his draft registration card.
