William Dimble, Sr., gentleman, was a well-off yeoman farmer in Cornwall, as indicated by the substantial bequests made in his Will. Sadly, his younger son, James did not long survive him, dying at the age of twenty or twenty-one in 1787. All the property thus passed to William Jr. Of his two children, both daughters, one died young and the other had no children of her own. Thus, ultimately, significant property remaining of the Dimble family passed to their closest relatives -our family, the Henwoods. The Dimble name appears to have become extinct in the UK in 1864.
