Arbor Mich[igan] the applicant was a Well man at that time and after he came back from the war he complained with his hip and he was not so good a man and with my personal acquaintance with him since the war I know of him having no Bad habits and is spoken well of

and I Riley Warix have been acquainted Sad applicant Nearly Three years and he is Genelarly complaining of his hip of hurting him and has to quit Work quite Frequently on account of the Pain. Since I have been acquainted with said application and known of him having No Bad habbits

the affidavitts above was writen By SB Kimball in his Office in the city of Benton Harbor for [rip] Our [TBD] Statement to him then made on the 12th day of December 1895 in the Presence of each other and me [TBD] not aided or

In the matter of the claim for pension of James H. Jackson of Company D, 54th Regiment Mass[achusetts] Inf[antry] Vol[unteer]s:

Personally came before me, a Notary Public in and for aforesaid County and State, H[ezekiah] S Stewart and Riley Warix of Benton Harbor in the County of Berrien, State of Mich[igan] reputable and entitled to credit; and who, being duly sworn, declares, each for himself, in relation to the aforesaid claim as follows:

  • Benton Harbor, Mich
  • St Joseph, Mich

ages are 51 years and 39 years respectively By, occupation Farming, and Farmer hereby testify that I H[ezekiah] S Stewart have been acquainted with James H Jackson since the year 1862. I got acquainted with him at Ann
