Jackson tell about that.

There were three Jacksons in my Company. This man was not one of them. One was Henry who died in service, and one George who went back to Massachusetts. James H. was a light brown skinned man large and tall, and this is a dark skinned man. I never heard of any other name given him than James H. Jackson. I never heard what the "H" stood for in his name.

but he was not a member of my Company and I never met him to my knowledge until I met him here. He told me what company and regiment he belonged to but I cannot recall it and I am satisfied he did not claim to belong to the same regiment I did. I know he was not the James H. Jackson who was our First Sergeant. This man could not write his name and Sergeant Jackson was a good scholar. The sergeant was about ten years younger than I was and this man looked to be older. He lived near me here and I visited with him and from his conversation I should judge he had been in the army. I do not remember his speaking of any circumstances that happened in the army that I knew of. I knew of that colored man who was calling hogs and who was hung afterwards but I never heard

DEPOSITION C

Case of James H. Jackson, No. 922015

On this 25 day of April, 1906, at Harrison Township, count of Montgomery state of Ohio before me W.T. Cathcart, a Special Examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Aaron A. Dyson, who, being by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:

I am 69 years of age. My post office address is National Military Home Ohio. I have never been a member of the Home. I enlisted May 18, 1863 in Company B 55 Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry and was discharged August 29, 1865, a private. I was sergeant part of the time.

I met a man here and at the Home who drew a pension under the name of James H. Jackson
