I heard this James H. Jackson speak of his son since I saw him here but don't recollect where he said he was living. He spoke of going back to Michigan when he bid me goodbye but I do not know what town he was going to. I knew nothing about his service, and nothing more about him since he left here.

again in St. Louis about 1878. I had only a little conversation with him then. I met him next here at the Home some time in 1903. I recognized him as the same man. He was an older man than I. When I boated with him he had a family i St. Louis, a wife and two children. They came to the boat to meet him and he said they were his wife and children.

I met the same girl here afterwards. She was a woman grown and married. I do not recollect her name. She came to see him in the Home with her husband. I do not know what became of her nor do I know what her husband's name was.

I heard him say he belonged to the 54 Massachusetts. I knew him only by the names James H. Jackson.

He had a young wife and a little girl with him here. He did not say what became of the other wife.

DEPOSITION D

Case of James H. Jackson, No. 922015

On this 25 day of April, 1906, at National Military Home, county of Montgomery State of Ohio, before me, W.T. Cathcart, a Special Examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Mitchell Johnson, who, being by me duly sword to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:

I am 62 years of age. My post office address is as above c/o 10, member to the Home since 1894 from Cincinnati, Ohio.

I served in Company D 60 United States Colored Troops (USCT) from 1863 to 1865 as a private.

I met James H. Jackson while boating in the Mississippi about 1867 or 8. I made a trip with him on the Grand TBD to New Orleans. I met him
