I am satisfied this is not that man. I do not know what became of Jackson after he was transferred to the 55 Massachusetts.

I was not in the fight of Honey Hill.

I do not recollect this man Jackson speak of getting wounded there. We did not talk much about our service. Yes I told him I could not recollect him in the company and he did not seem to press the matter. He said he was going to Detroit Michigan when he left here.

I saw his wife and little girl while they were here. No I never saw any woman claiming to be his daughter. I do not know whether we had any other Jackson except the sergeant.

As I recollect he was a brown skinned man and was an educated intelligent man.

No I never heard this man Jackson related any circumstance that would show that he had been

DEPOSITION E

Case of James H. Jackson, No. 922015

On this 27 day of April, 1906, at National Military Home, county of Montgomery State of Ohio, before me, W.T. Cathcart, a Special Examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Charles L. Ellis, who, being by me first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him during this special examination of aforesaid claim for pension, deposes and says:

I am 76 years old. My post office address is as bove, Care of Hospital.

I served in Company D 54 Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry from August 1863 to September 1865 a private.

I recollect James H. Jackson who was here a year or two ago. He claimed to be in my Company but I do not recollect him there.

We had a Sergeant Jackson in our company but
