Wasyl Pysh filed his declaration of intention to petition for naturalization on 17 September 1919, filed his petition for naturalization on 21 June 1922, and his oath of allegiance in 1923. His witnesses were Lukacs Swentkowsky and Stephen Sembrat. Stephen Sembrat had been the first Church Committee Secretary when the St. Peter and St. Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church of Carnegie, Pennsylvania was founded in 1903.
