An alternative point of origin for James Scriven: Gloucestershire

This is a map showing Colyton, Devon and Cranham, Gloucestershire and the distance between them, about 100 miles. William Richard Scrivens, born December 25, 1631 in Cranham, Gloucestershire, was the father of a James Scriven born in 1680, an alternative candidate for the James Scriven who is my first immigrant ancestor. For this James (b. 1680) to work, James would have had to have been over 30 when he appears in Flushing. There is an extensive family of Scrivens in the Gloucester area, so at the very least, there is a good chance they are related.

This graphic also illustrates how close Colyton is to Chard, which is the probable birthplace of James' (b. 1693) father George.
