This speculative reconstruction of the flag of the 39th Alabama Infantry is based on the surviving flag of the 26th/50th Alabama and other units in Brantley’s Brigade; this design reflects the 1864 pattern issued to the Army of Tennessee. No known original flag of the 39th survives.
