He has shown me scars on his head and arm and told me he got them in the army. I have been told I was born in 1859. My age is reckoned from that year. He has not been able to do 1/2 an able bodied man in performance of manual labor at any time [TBD] the last seven years. I am not related to claimant and I have no interest in his herein claim. I have heard you read my deposition herein and it is correctly recorded. I have nothing further to say.

I have known William Gibson alias John Sanders all of my life. I cannot say that I recall him as a fact previous to his coming out of the U.S. regular army but I cannot say what year it was emphatically. We have worked together at different things for years. He has complained of pain in head and pain in hip for a long time - can't saw how many years now. He here told me he had a rupture - I never saw it. He told me about it first about 10 or 12 or 14 years ago. I never knew him to receive an injury to head or back at any time. He does work now as much as he can get to do. He has been a common laborer in all the time I have known him. He has complained of swimming in head in summer time and his eyes hurting him for 17 or 18 years.

Case of William Gibson alias John Sanders, No. 648,529.
On this 10th day of March, 1899, at Hanover, county of Jefferson, State of Indiana, before me, A.J. Green, special examiner of the Bureau of Pensions, personally appeared Daniel B. Forson, who being first duly sworn to answer truly all interrogatories propounded to him, deposes and says:
I am 40 years of age; my post-office address is Hanover, Jefferson Co[unty], Indiana.
