Lady Gu was born on 2 June/23 May 1578 by Gregorian/Julian calendar (17 April by the lunar calendar) in Chungcheong Province, Kingdom of Joseon, now Korea. She was the daughter of Gu Sa-Maeng and his second wife Lady Shin.[1][2]
In 1587, at age 9, Lady Gu was married to the 7-year old Yi Bu, Prince Jeonwon, third son of Seonjo of Joseon. She was titled Princess Consoert Yeonju.[1]
In 1623, her eldest son Prince Neungyang ascended the throne as King Injo. She moved into Gyeonghui Palace. She died on 10 Feb 1626 (14 January by the lunar calendar) in the 4th year of King Injo's reign.[2] In 1623, she was posthumously elevated to Queen Inheon, after her husband was posthumously honoured as King Wonjong of Joseon.[1]
