Adopted this profile on 16 December 2023 and started renovating it on 7 April 2024. It's a "hot mess" and needs full and proper citation for sources supporting it's claims, some of which are immediately seen as incorrect (ex: wrong mother), much too early birth date, wrong birth location etc etc etc. G. Pinson (Pinson-796).
Birth Year: We know that Mary couldn't have been born before July 1647, because she was the daughter of Robert Pitt's second wife Elizabeth Stevens and Robert's first wife was still alive on 13 October 1646 when her father wrote his will naming her as his daughter Mary Pitt and also naming her son John Pitt. if the first wife died immediately after her father drew his will and Robert Pitt married immediately after that and his second wife conceived Mary, Mary's birth still couldn't be before July 1646, if allowing a 9 month gestation period. John Brayton in his book on the Pitt family estimated Mary's birth year as ca. 1650 and Brayton had no idea that Robert's first wife was still alive in October 1646. 1650 is the estimated birth year we will use and doubt it could have been more than a year earlier.
